Re: Rare Canadian Edition AE21 I/O prototype
I'll say it again, don't want to sound too pessimistic, but I can't realistically see someone who knows what they're getting into paying $1000 or more for the hacked up hull, no engine cover, and trailer. It's going to be a pile of work to get that thing on the water. But there's a fish born every day....

By the responses to my ad, I think you are absolutely correct and will be lowering my prices. I have very limited experience with this sort of thing, but assumed that being as rare as this was, that someone searching for these, might be willing to pay those prices. WRONG

Welcome to the forum.
At first I doubted the history of this boat, but check out this article I found through this site.
http://www.hydrostream.org/Reports/PBAE21IO.jpg
btw, be careful moving it. (The boat is very weak: no wood, no transom, no motor cover, and the trailer is too short and has never been fit to the boat.)
The first is your pic from Kijiji
Then other I found here on the AE21 page.

Welcome to the forum.
That is a one of a kind boat but those are not always desirable. If a person wanted to put a outboard on it there would be a lot of work just to get it to the point of something they could buy already done. Plus it needs a recore and those two things will kill the resale. Trailers don't hold their value worth a darn especially if they are not designed for the boat. I would think a selling price would be $1000-1500 complete, you can always ask for more but I think it would sell at that price. Not having a vin although it looks like there is one in the add is also hurting resale value
It would be a shame to put a outboard in it but that is up to the buyer. If it were restored with a I/O I would think it would actually be worth more than a average AE21.
This is just another opinion.

I agree with Chet 100%.
By the looks of that transom and outdrive hole, that mirror must have really been up there in the air. Would look pretty cool to see a blown car motor in there though.

Glad to say that it has gone to a good home. So glad that it will be lovingly restored.
I have been promised a ride when completed. Yeehaw
