'88 Voyager XT. Put a Whale Supersub Smart 650 low profile pump below the deck, starboard, forward of fuel tank, behind battery, in minor valley adjacent to deepest V which is occupied by a plywood box. I didn't want to cut into the box as it appears structural with pylon bolted into it. This location gets wet after 6 gallons. Behind the fuel tank in the deep V might be better but you'd have to pull the tank to clean the strainer. Only hitch was the strainer came off and is non-retrievable; Whale said they would promptly send a new one gratis. New one will have a safety leash.
This is an auto pump with overide and a solid state field effect switch. Put a blinking alarm light from O'Reilly's in the "on" side of circuit and installed in dash. Light will flash if the pump is left on or bilge floods and pump goes on automatically.
Through hull water outlet is placed high in splashwell.
Wondering how to post images or maybe change your avatar or maybe something else?
