I'm there with you, I have one of each for the vking but can't make up my mind on what to use. I'm thinking of going with the 260 because it's lighter.

Chets Viper has a 260 drag cowl, yours is an alien. I like the looks of the drag cowl better. Dont get me wrong, the aliens look nice and all but just not my cup of tea.

If you're patient, and keep an eye out, you can find bargains.

I bought this complete on Ebay for 200 bucks from a Pro Max, needed some work, and new decals.

Transomstand, Your are correct. I got them mixed up. I love the looks of the drag though. Between that and the BP cowl, 2 of the best looking cowls. That Drag looks awesome on your boat.

You will have to pull your powerhead to mount either cowl. Pick up two base gaskets as you will need them.
I have the luxury of owning a 260 cowl mold. I pulled the mold off a damaged factory one.
The labor to lay one up is intensive!!
By the time you make the fiberglass parts, paint and polish, buy hinges, push-on trim. Stainless mounting plate, drill all the holes, buy and install like 30 screws, washers, and nuts for the plate. I had to get $600.00 ea. I was making about $5.00 per hour making them in my spare time. Obviously I only make cowls for myself now.
I've had both styles, Alien and HP versions. Each one seems to compliment a certain style of boat.
Look up pictures of your style boat with either cowl and see which one moves you.
