Please do. I know what you mean about the carbon fiber. I have worked in both carbon and fiberglass, fiberglass is much more firgiving. Carbon kevlar is difficult too. I have never seen clear mat though, and any resin I've worked with would lead me to believe the end result would be more opaque than clear, but I'm open to the idea that there's product out there I've never seen/heard of. If you don't have pics, how about links or supplier pages I could check out? I've been into car audio for like 15 years, built fiberglass subwoofer boxes, amp racks, door pods, and dash parts for amost every car I've owned, the clear idea has my mind going.....

JETMORE wrote:i just got a email with the same question, basically, you can go cheap and simple, or sky is the limit;

simple flat black polyester layup $200, with gloss black, $250

if somebody wants exotic (transparent, pigmented, metal flake, epoxy, s-glass, e-glass, etc.) then $300 and up.

if somebody wants it to weigh super light (2-3 pounds), $250, because i have to use ProSet epoxy (NASA grade West System) and all s-glass. much less material used, but not as easy to work with, and the supplies are extremely expensive since i don't buy this stuff in bulk (not enough demand).

The one i am doing right now for a guy has a fiberglass hydrostream emblem on the center of the shield. will look nice when done.

i can do a simple "rough cut" shield for $125. This is one popped out of the mold, will need sanding, filling, fairing, and paint.

pm sent

Just an FYI everyone, While I have not done business personally with Ronnie, I have talked to him and a lot of people have nothing but good to say about him on S&F and he is a 100% stand up guy that I will stand behind 100%!

Hey Ronnie, if you do get a windshield made I would love to see it. I have an acrylic one now but I am so afraid I am going to break it putting it on. lol

Fat Tony, Just so you know, The Viper, Vector, V-King, Vulture, and the AE-21 all share the same windshield and frame. :up:
