Viper windshield removal.

Post: # 12824Post rev.ronnie »

Need to remove the windshield frame, one side needs a little straightening and I don't want to chance breaking the perfect windshield.

Have not tried to remove it yet, how does it come off in the front, top of the windshield?

Thanks, Ron

Ronnie, Check out this post where I removed what was left of my windshield from the frame. Hopefully that will help.

I tried to I'd it, but I didn't get anywhere. I'm way to scared of breaking or scuffing the windsheild to get to aggressive. I wish I could find someone who is versed in taking these things off in one piece and just pay to have it done. I really want the frame straightened but again, I'm too scared to try to do it with it attached. If this windsheild broke, I'd never forgive myself..

I think if you used a bunch of small pieces from an old hose clamp (or something similar) on both sides at each clip (There is a lot of them) all at once then you could pull it right out. I got thinking about that the other day and I dont see why that wouldnt work.

Where is it bent at? Can you post a picture? I know Chet was going to try and straighten one out but never did.

Little OT but I am going to try and remove the ipad from the mobile list so you see the regular site. Should make posting pictures easier for ya.

The frame is bent on the passenger side, like it got leaned on. It's a couple inches down, and has a slight twist to it. It has a little bend at the attaching point of the deck too. Someone probably sat on it or something dumb.
