Vector weight

Post: # 18501Post STREAMFREAK »

I have a 79 Hydrostream Vector with original steel Hydrostream trailor has the foot step wings etc. With a big fat 75 Evinrude 200 hanging on the back. Im in the middle of a core job so there isnt a ton of soggy wet core to add weight. Im curious if someone can give me a weight on this setup. Im also curious if anyone can give me a idea on how much weight they have shedded on a core job?

We use to race the Vector and the Varmints back in the 80's. Weigh in for the Varmint 17'6 with 200 Merc, I believe was 1400 (gas included) ready to run. The Vector with a 235 OMC i believe was about 100 pounds lighter as it was 16' and change long. But the OMC was heavy compared to 200 2.0/2.4 Merc.

Forgive me if I am off, as that was many many years ago.

Some have added weight after replacing the core simply cause it had rotted away so bad, some have shed some weight for sure as water adds weight. As for actual numbers, its hard to say cause you can put 3 Vectors next to each other and they all have different numbers and I personally have not weighed my Vector but it also is not rigged at all and the floor and is out and only the old core remains. I really need to weigh my Vulture without the motor. I know that is lighter now just cause how my "core" was replaced prior to me buying it. It was a hack job to say the least and they used standard issue plywood for the core and it was soaking wet and heavy! lol Its all been fixed now though.
