1984 Vandal wood core questions

Just got this Vandal and I am new to the forum.
Curious to know if someone has a walkthrough of the steps needed to replace the wooden core in these boats.
I have read some of the articles in where it is recommended that the old wood core be replaced if it has not been done yet.
It has been sitting outside under trees for quite a while and i did find some rotten wood chunks near the rear drain plug at the transome so i am sure it needs it replaced.
I have never done one of these so pointers would be appreciated.
I'm sure that many of you have done the hard part and figured out tricks or better ways to do it so I don't have to learn the hard way.
Thank you ........Patrick.

Look in the restoration section, there are a ton of rebuild topics in there with a wealth of information. Maybe start your own topic in there too with plenty of pictures and ask questions along the way. :)

Hi Patrick.
This is a link to my Viper re-core. http://hydrostream.org/ArticleArchives/AlaskaViperResto.htm

I show the tools & materials needed to do the job.
I split my deck and hull . You may not need to do this.
I built a jig to hold the hull flat once the core was removed. Read as many re-core threads as you can. You will spot the good jobs and the "not good" ones.
