Ski Bar on a VOODOO

Post: # 2636Post markminden »

considering putting a ski bar in for this kids over the winter. Anyone who has had one would appreciate some info or pics of you have them.

Have seen a very unique ski bar that I have never seen before that may fit the bill

check out the pole on the HNR 11 boat

Is the center bar attached to the transom? I have never seen one like that.

I have installed a couple of the regular 3 pole ones. I'll look and see if I have some pictures of my vegas, I put that one in this summer.

I just posted "Can you help me with model and year?" The bottom pics shows a ski bar on this boat. Hope it helps. I am going to look at it tomorrow and if I purchase will post more pics.

I thought about putting one on the Vulture but im not sure yet. Maybe save the skiing and tubing for the jet boat. ;)

I know a ski bar assists in getting the tow rope up over the motor etc. It also puts the centre or gravity pull way high, especially for a small light weight boat. What would the kids really benefit from this versushow much harder it will be to pull them out of the water? I used to be able to ski not bad, some friends where better, but most of them..could not make full use anyway.
I'll suggest just tie the rope to the trans eye.
By the time they get better (and bigger) you will need a bigger tow boat as they will be pulling it all over the place.

A voodoo is'nt going to be worth a squat pulling anything, and potentially could be very dangerous too.

I hate to jump on this barge of negativity but...I hate that bar in the pic.

The forces that will be exerted on it will tend to (along with the force of your motor) peel your transom off the boat. I'll give 'em credit though, it looks good and it'll keep the rope out of the water. However, you won't see any improvements in steering while towing. It would need to be much further forward for that. JMO :)

you'll have no problem skiing with that boat
don't go with the huge tripod
you only need the 1 bar, the new style is to have the bar go down a hole in front of the splashwell
that way it's not in the interior of the boat and in the way
just place it in front of the splashwell instead of drilling a large hole
secure it there with a U bolt and 2 small holes
the bottom you just need a plate with a U channel to fit the bar between and put a bolt thru
the initial force is just getting the skiier up, then you can hold the rope yourself
the most force would be pulling some one up on 1 ski only
go with a 3 blade low pitch prop and you'll be able to pull up adults as well with out feeling the weight

I tend to agree with you on how this ski bar is attached. I don't like it going to the transom, but i am not going to be pulling any skiers and now that it is mine I will be removing it anyway.
