Mini-speedster advice?

Post: # 947Post dougo »

Could you advise me on mini-speedboats 12-14 ft?
#1 requirement: handling fairly rough water (1-2 ft waves).
I’m told that I need: quite heavy, deep-V, high transom.
#2 requirement: top-end speed in the range of 55-70.
Possible 13 footers?: Hydrostream VooDoo, LilDevil (Bullet),
Fantasy (Checkmate), KamoViper (Critchfield).
Will something be better for me than the Voodoo?

What King said. If I even see 2 foot waves on the lake I stay home no matter if I am in my uncles 23' glastron or my cousins 14' alum fising boat. Them are some big waves! lol

A Voo-Doo is a super fun boat though and would love to have one. :)

Okay, I guess my eyeballs ain't workin' that great.
How the hell do you measure wave height?
I'm talkin' about San Diego Bay ... tug boats, navy ships, cruise boats.
There are plenty of sections with less than 1 ft waves.
But then there are places with long swells of maybe 3'.
Right now I'm flyin' around there @ 48 mph in an 11' 8" shallow-V.
Hey, talk about havin' to read the waves!
I thought a heavier, deeper V mini would cut through better.
Appreciate the wake-up call, guys.
P.S. Several Voodoo owners insist it handles rough water real well.
