Were you able to work on the pad area, post some pics of the boat and keep us posted on the progress

Yup, rotten core in the pad as well. It's all out now and took what was left in the front. Pfffff what a job under there!!

I guess I didn't Check my floor enough before asking.. I went all in in the first cut.. But really all is left is 1/2 balsa + glass. You can see my cut straight trough in the back. Nothing too hard to fix later.
Done chipping the left over transom

Looking good, now the real fun, grinding lol. If you look back at some of the older threads you'll see my dads Vking (1979 Vking post)and where someone before cut through the hull. Use at least 36 grit to grind the hull

My lack of knowledge marine wise, can be somehow improved with my work background in bodywork for the last 15 years. I also have the advantage to be well equipped safety wise. With an oxygen mask, good gloves and a suit, bring any amount of grinding :))) the grinder becoming hot is more the problem! ( 8 inch) I was planning on using a "thub" the 10 inch sanders we use on floor sanding. With a 24 grit it should be done quickly.
