Re: Vector rebuild help
Since the floor, stringers and core were already removed when I got this boat I'm not sure how everything was layed out. How far does the floor go in the front? Is the v part of the bow open or is there another section of floor up there? I'm trying to figure out where to mount a Hot Foot. I can see where a bulkhead was in the front of the stringers, does the floor stop there?

Re: Vector rebuild help
The floor stops at the bulkhead, which is angled for a footrest, in front of the bulkhead would be a storage "shelf", just a couple layers of glass. Lot of guys glass in a little box for the hot foot, mine is just bolted right through the hull.Stellix wrote:Since the floor, stringers and core were already removed when I got this boat I'm not sure how everything was layed out. Re: Vector rebuild help
Any pictures of the bulkhead ? It looks like the bulkhead in this one was just flat, boxing in the front of the stringers

Re: Vector rebuild help
It is just a triangular flat panel, higher than the floor, about an inch below the top of the footrest.

Re: Vector rebuild help
I'm still trying to picture it. At the front of the stringers there should be a board to cap off the stringers I think. Is there another bulkhead in front of that? I was doing a little touch up on my grinding today, I found a spot at the front of each ledge where the floor sits that looks like Bondo. I think it's resin, is that what Hydrostream used to fill in the keel?

Re: Vector rebuild help
This should be like yours, with the wider floor and floatation boxes

Re: Vector rebuild help
Thanks. I think I understand now. It looks like the foot rest starts at the floor . Does the foot rest just sit on top of the floor , what is the front triangle panel up front made of ? I'm not putting the float boxes back in it, just putting balsa core in that area. Do you think it will be strong enough without the boxes?

Re: Vector rebuild help
Floatation boxes are not needed, the footrest is laminated in after the core is laid down and the triangle panel is made of few layers of glass.

Re: Vector rebuild help
u can bond the directly to the hull with resin only as the cor has fiberglass stiching on the bottom of it make sure to measure and pre cut for fitment befor laying it down and clean clean clean and set the core I put bricks on mine to hold it down putting plent of resin down then letting iy set of nite then do 1708 over the top tying into the rolled edges under thw gunnels and use a good vacum sealer to suck the air out if u get and air pocketa in it a good turkey surenge should get the resin in the air pockets just my opinion goodluck post more picks of inside
