Wet sanding my Vulture

Post: # 14272Post vulture62 »

I need some advice on wetsanding, I purchased this Vulture 6 weeks ago, I have my hot foot in, jack plate on, trim ordered.
Now i need to do some wet sanding.
Boat is really in good shape for 1985, but does have some area's that need attention, mainly on rear sides and a little on the bow area.
Any help is appreciated.
Eric

p.s. She will be helping with wet sanding.... ;)

I have started with 600 then 1000 and buffed with a wool pad after. Then a gray foam pad followed by a yellow polishing pad. Once it looks good keep a good wax on it. UV rays are what destroys the gel I use 303 on my carbon fiber to try and keep all that I can away.

Any parts store will have the pads, aerospace 303 is a spray wax most marine shops have it.

I use 1000 grit followed by 1200. Then I use 3M Finness with a high speed wheel followed by Starbright cleaner wax. The last coat is Maguires Marine Wax.
