I was cutting and laying out the Balsa last night and looked at the hole for the drain plug. I never thought about it before, should there be wood there? All there is now is a thin layer of fiberglass. If I lay core in the pad area first it may make it harder to install a drain plug sleeve. Anybody have any pictures of the drain plug area so I can figure out how to do it before I install the core and stringers?

Thanks for all the help . Now it's about time to start on glassing in the core. I think I'm about two sheets short, where is the best place to buy a couple more?

Do y'all gellcoat or paint the stringers and core before you put the floor in? I used unwaxed resin for everything so far , I was wondering if I needed to seal it with something before I put the plywood floor in?

Well I'm back working on the Vector. I've got all the core and stringers in and I'm getting ready to put the floor and the front panel in. It's been so long since I've looked at the layout of everything I kinda forgot how everything goes. Is the section between the stringers sealed up on both ends or is it open like a tunnel to allow any water that might get under the floor or in front of the bulkhead to flow out the back?

You'll want to leave both ends open to allow water to flow, just in case it gets beneath the floor.

Also, where the stringers meet the transom, you should notch out a small hole in each stringer near the bottom for any water that may get in between the stringer and the floor register....otherwise it will be trapped in there as it wont be able to get to the pad area by the drain plug.
