Varmit?

Post: # 3580Post TLW »

New guy ta Streams! Finally found what I've been lookin' for. Now tha work begins. Gonna split top n bottom and see what I've got ta deal with. Once I get in there I think I might be able ta figure it out hopefully. Was hoping someone could tell me tha best way ta go about gettin' tha two pieces apart. Don't really like startin' something totally blind. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated...........

I'm redoing mine without splitting top and bottom. I didn't want to deal with getting the trim back on right. I am re-coring a Vulture. See my thread on 79 Vulture Recore in WIP. It might help.

Im guessing that with the Varmint being a fishing boat more less that the deck is alot different so splittling might be the only way really. I could be way wrong as the only one I have ever seen in person was Todds when I picked up my Vulture from him but I didnt get a really good look at it.

Start taking some pictures so we can see what your working with. :)

I have heard that sawzawls work nice. Make sure the hull is well supported first before removing the deck though so things stay straight.

Its got me puzzled! Looks like tha trim is attached to tha bottom before tha top is put on? Tha rivets go thru tha trim from tha inside edge of tha bottom.....I'll try ta get some pics in a day or two.

Yep, drill out all the rivets and take the rub rail off. Careful though so you can reuse it if its in good shape. :)
