I am considering changing out my original dual cable system to a new one. I am running a 6" setback. Anyone have input on recommended cable length for this application. My initial thought is 15'

Re: Steering Cable Length V-King
There might be someone who has your setup and can comfirm but I would say add 1 foot if your adding 6" of setback.
If I don't have a cable to measure I will lay a tape across the top of the boat starting at were the rack is and making 90* bends at the helm and at the stern. Take that measurement and round up to the nearest foot. This way you won't be short since the bends will be gradual and if you have a little extra it's easier to deal with than being to short.
Hope it helps.

13 or 14 foot. Mine are 13 without a jack. They will fit a 6 inch set back though. To much cable ain't good either.

77 Viper, how long are the cables on your Vegas? The ones I installed are Vegas OEM (but seem too long). Just trying to cross check.
Thanks for the replies on this topic.

I'm using sea star pro 2.0 helms. I got them from work over the years, I just had to buy the hoses.
