Why wouldnt you want a 2 stroke? I would rather have a 2 stroke on my boat myself. Plus they are much lighter then a 4 stroke.

I agree with russ. Just add the oil at the same time you get fuel. Just get an even number of gallons and add the oil accordingly for each gallon. Super easy and takes about 2 min longer when at the pump if that.

Thats just me though. Otherwise dont remove your oil injection or if it already is, hook it back up if its that big of a hassle. Only thing I see beneficial to having a 4stroke on a performance boat is it being really quiet and that about it really. From what I have heard they are a lot heavier then a 2 stroke also. I dont know about there fuel consumption vs a 2 stroke so I can comment on that.

How many 4 strokes do you even see on performance boats? I think there is a reason you dont.

I recently saw a 4 stroke on a Viper and was quite impressed on how it ran. Plus... it was so friggin quiet. The "picture" just seemed odd to have a Stream fly by in stealth mode :o)

Unfortunately I dont recall the size of the engine but it ran quite impressive from what I could see.

Hi, just wanted to congratulate you on your boat. I was a little late. Having owned 3 v-kings, I would recommend going with a 2 stroke. Those boats do not like having that much weight on the transom . I would check the screamandfly forum and try to find a 2.5 mercury or a 2.4 bridgeport at 375 lbs. You won't be disappointed. Also have that transom checked out and make sure it's not wet or has any rot. Most of those boats need cores, if they haven't been replaced already. Good luck and congratulations!
