Thanks TPwolf, can't wait to see the pictures!

Still wondering if the glass tunnel and no stringers is stock, the very last picture I recently posted shows the tunnels profile. that picture was taken from the bow toward the stern where the front single stringer starts and the rear stringers/tunnel ends. what looks like a wide wood box in the top view pictures is just the wood that i could not easily remove from the top of the tunnel. The tunnel underneath it is actually quite narrow btwn 3 and 4 inches square.

Someone please help me figure out what to do with this, do i cut it out and grind it down? do I leave it in place? Is there core under it?? I like the idea of composite stringers but not sure what to replace it with if it has to be removed.

Yes the glass stringer is stock and needs to come out, there is core under it. It can be replaced by wood or a composite, as for what composite material, I'm looking into that for me next project.

The black you see under the glass is rotten core.

At the top of the page click on the link for the knowledge base and on that page you will see a link for posting images. Hope that helps. Any questions just ask. :D

Hope your putting hydrolich stearing or another dual cable set up back in. Single cable should be avoided if at all possible.

this was rebuilt just like the original with a few exceptions
1 the original was built from 1/2 plywood except for the bottom boards that attach it to the floor they were 1/4
2 the seat was raised 2 inches for simple comfort(just take 2 inches off the front and the sides.....on top....back to where the back slides into the slot to make original height)
3 the 2x2 across was added due to the seat starting to crack and me being to lazy to replace it at the time. This is a river boat and really takes a pounding I doubt if you need this do to the fact that the original lasted 15 years If you need exact measurements or more detailed drawings let me know

Hi All, I am reviving this thread because after years of storage I hope to get this boat back in working order.

I have now completed a different boat and will be running that this year.

With the experience of re-building a different boat, I would now like to take on the Venus.

I'll Keep everyone posted on what happens.

I have actually completed a fair bit of the interior re-upholstery over the last couple years.

If anyone has any pictures of what they used to support their boat during re-core that would be very helpful.

thanks again and it's good to be back on HS forums :D
