Glastron Carlson cv16 ss

One of my fondest memories with my Grandpa was fixing up a early 80s Glastron Carlson cv16 ss. It took us 9 months as there was soo much wrong with it. We bought it from a neighbor, it belonged to his father who had passed away. It has what I believe was called a phantom hull? (details are a little fuzzy as I was only 15) Needless to say before we sold it back to him I had one single summer of speeds I had never seen in my little fishing boat and an instant passion for classic boats. It was impressed on me early on that most of today's boats relatively look like the same family oriented margarine tub that has been produced in the last 15 years. I always wanted something with unique lines and paint job that would turn heads and scream by your average boat. This video took me back as it looks identical to our project.

Our neighbor at the cottage still has it....hasn't put it in the water, which is a shame aaaand last year a tree fell on it putting a big rip in the deck. Maybe I should make him an offer and get her back in the shop!
I will dig up the restoration pics and post them ...hope I can find them!
