Hahah you weren't kidding! Thats quite the fridge on that thing. Not to annoy you pros with too many questions but what does one have to do to set up a 500 pound engine for those kind of speeds?

Some engine shots at the 8.30 mark in the video

It's probably no big deal, some later model 2.5's were 400+ lbs, add 28 gallons of fuel in the back, a big battery, and you're carrying a bunch of weight. Move the battery forward, less need for a big gas tank with better fuel economy, and it would balance out.

Makes sense thanks allot! What about engine height, set back, prop ....or does that all depend on the individual boat and driver?

Some will be driver preference, but it should be close to "normal", round ear prop, a little above the pad, probably 4-6 inches of setback.

Great, thanks for your input! You recommend a manual or hydraulic jack for application such as this?

I suppose regardless of the weight of the heavier engine you still need to put it back to get more boat out of the water and get the prop away from cavitation?
