My 1988 Valero is a Yt hull and completely different than the v hull of the earlier Valeros. So sorry I don't have a answer for you

Can you post a picture?

I know my Viper had a concave.

I have a text into Phil Blomquist who has a Valero. He should let me know or chime in soon.

I wouldn't think a bad core would concave a pad evenly down the length of the hull.

If you decide to fill it in, I would grind with 16 to 24 grit to roughen up the surface and add strips of fiberglass to build up. (mat or 1708). Like bondo on a car body repair.... Keep the filler as thin as possible.

85 Canadian Edition Valero. It has a small (3/8)concave shape to the pad. Is this "factory" or the result of the bad core?
If I am going to make it flat what would be the best way to change it?
Grind off gel coat and add material to get the flat surface?
