Depends on what you plan to do. I sprayed flake on my boat so I needed three total layers of gel to get it right(Base color, flake/clear, clear). If you're doing a solid color on the whole boat you could do it with one coat. Each coat took about 6-7 quarts of gel for each the hull and deck. So for a single color boat I would grab a 5 gallon pail and you should be covered. If you're doing flake its a whole new game. But figure 6-7 quarts for each layer of gel on a 18' stream. I figure I laid it down around 26-32mils, which is a bit on the heavy side.
