Hippie had said he was gonna start out with a 62 pitch, and I was just having fun. As far as what you're seeing with the 26, it's a good place to start. A high performance prop of that pitch, or maybe a little less, will probably let you get up to the top of your HP curve at around 6000-6200 rpm. You would definitely see more top end. The Rakers seem to get more bite, and keep the rpm a little low.

Hey Vulture2, That length stream should run just about right with that pitch. I was replying to Hippie that had posted 62 pitch, instead of 26, and just having a little fun.

Aw, com on Hippie, we all wish we had enough motor to turn a 62 pitch. Probably just a Freudian slip? I know you're dreaming of that Vulture with an 1800 HP outboard! We all knew what you meant, but I couldn't resist.

So when are we going to see pictures of this thing running and making a pass or 2??

a 26pitch prop is where I was thinking of starting at as well. Good to hear its working out for ya.

The 26 Raker worked great. rps down to 5500 at top end and a little more speed. Should save some gas as well. Bill

I was using a 28 Raker before Russ F. sold me a 27SRX. One thing I can say is DON'T have any cup added to that prop. It will kill your RPM'S. The Srx, on the other hand, responded well to DAH propeller adding cup. I saw about another 3-4 mph. Overall the difference between the Raker and the SRX was about 7 to 10 MPH on the top end, depending on the conditions. You probably won't pull up a skier with it, like you could with the Raker, but the performance is miles apart. While the Raker is not a bad prop, you probably need something a little more performance minded for speed. Chet (77VIPER) could probably point you in the right direction, or if your looking, try Scream&Fly.
