Very nice. You have the tools to stamp them like that? I could use some for my boat. ;)

i read that somewhere else too, good info for future. unfortunently the previous owner already cut the splashwell out and was missing. he also had the trans out, cutting through the stamped #.

i made 4 aluminum tags i stamped the # into, putting one under each gunwale, one on backside of dash, and one on inside of trans.

I had a 1983 V-King back in like 1993. It had an aluminum tag with the HIN stamped on it, riveted in place where the HIN would normally be. I never took it off to see what was under there. The boat was junk, I killed it. The bottom flexed and leaked so bad you had to run the bilge constantly. I had a body shop then and my guy fixed it every other week...

My Venus has a full wrap around aluminum transom that goes over the splashwell. It covers the HIN. Ones like this I've seen in the past have had a cutout for it. I don't even know if mine has gel coat under it, as it looks like its set into, not on top of the transom. It is sealed in on the sides. It is brutally strong looking. I still have the HIN on the Coast Guard plate though, and the title, of course.

The strip is about a foot and a half long...not easy to miss.

Most, if not all Hydrostream hulls have the HIN written on a tape stripe, and glassed in to the underside of the deck somewhere. It's usually near the splash well. It will be covered in clear resin, and laid in while it's in the mold. Mine all have them. I don't know if it was for theft identification, or probably to keep things straight when they were being made.

I used to have the same prob but now I no all the ladys at the regestration office one inpaticalor who is always willing to go the extra mile to help me out . Not to many years ago they used to drive me nuts and I would leave pi$$ed off every time now I only go to Natalys line even if I have to wait longer or come back if shes not working . Are dnr used to be the same way intil I found Paul and he is another person who likes his job and is willing to help which is good since he has to inspect my boats for titles .It all depends on who you talk to alot of times if you dont get the anserw you want call back adifferent person well anserw the ? differently. Or like I do find that person that well help and allways go to them . I well be going through what you are in the near future the 77Viper i bought and the big floatila both dont have titles. Some time if you are redoing aboat and you rebuild a certain %of it you can just get a home made title .
