79 200merc idleing problem

ok so me and tnriverrat when't and picked up a 200 merc today 79 model and the motor wouldnt start so i adjusted the timing got it fired up ran good but the idel was probally around 2grand or so no rpm gauge yet but anywhom there is no idle adjustment on the carbs after it was running and warm i adjusted the idle timing screw and tryed to get the idle down the trigger arm on the flywheel went as far as it would go and still idled way to high and the idle timing was around 4 atdc so how do i get this motor to idle down any suggestions will be thanked
