i have 6 stringer in my comp hull 18ft vking 2 in the gunnels 4 going to the transome that tie in to it in the pic the gas tank is inbetween 2 of them and 4 goes to the front seat and alittle past it on the sides plenty stronger just blew my merc up so gonna go bigger now

because it does displace stresses (tensile and compression primarily) over a larger area, which is always good, but, to be honest, the transom is standard procedure, engineered to handle the stresses, and the braces are an adequate upgrade to displace stress. you could do added stringers, too, but in my view, you don't need to do it, unless you enjoy getting scratchy with fibers. know what i mean?

no, but put some "triangles" in. these are simple knee-braces that are made of plywood, glassed on each side and attached below the splashwell, to the splashwell, floor and inside skin of the transom. attach with epoxy and a nice fillet with a couple layers of 1708 on each side. plenty strong.

should i b considering adding extra stringers for strength when useing a 235hp on a vector i m pretty hard on my toys ie jump n waves transom stands n hopefully 90 plus......thanks for your help n all the great info here
