Talk to someone that races in the sanctioning body that you want to race in. Each body has It's own rules.

Hydrolic is actually preferred versus cable steering. When it is properly bled you have zero play, super easy, and just all around easier to drive. That has been my experience anyways in the one boat I drove with hydrolic steering.

I know Chet runs it on his Viper and im sure it will end up on his VKing as well. I know when I can afford to, it will find its way to my vulture as well. Maybe santa will buy it for me for Christmas. lol

So to answer your question, To the best of my knowledge it is perfectly fine to run it.

are there any rules against hydrolic steering for raceing? i like the hydrolic steering on my seabird, and would like to use it on my viper. but before i sell my rack-n-pinion i need to know what the rules and regulations are. just dont want to make an uninformed decision. thanks, mike
