Re: cavitation problem
Hey man, what you're describing is a severe chinewalk. That tank and batteries forward is very likely the problem. The pivot point on these boats is about 12" forward of the transom. But don't worry, when you want to pull a skier drop down to a 19 pitch prop. Problem solved. You may also want t...

Re: cavitation problem
you may be getting blowout from that stock lower unit. get a shorter midsection and a bob's nose cone w/ low water pickup .you shouldn't be getting blowout till the mid seventies, but overtrimming might cause it. don't get discouraged. sometimes it takes a year, possibly two to dial in a proper setu...

225 looper/ 20 inch shaft on viking
Anybody got this kind of setup? Not in the water yet, but I'm concerned about the extra weight. Have 7" setback and I'm going to start with a 28 raker. I had 28 Hooter on an 18ft Action Marine years ago (200 rude) and I was outrunning Merc's with same boat/ horse power. Tried chopper prop, but ...

Re: YT hull vrs. V
I've run the yt against my viking motor for motor and always walked away from them. Had 150 rude, but just put on 225 looper. The Frankenrude man shows it can be successfully done. Hope to be in the water soon. Let you know how it goes.
