1980s johnson gt150
Hey, I haven't been on here in forever as I am knee deep in raising kids. haven't taken any of my streams out since 2015. anyway, my dad sold his house and his gt150 needs to go. I did a compression test on it prior to oiling the cylinders back in about 2012-13 and all was within 10 pounds. complete...

Re: New Carbon Fiber HydroStream emblems
I did several new sets of emblems if anyone is interested. to be honest, they take a lot of time and I am pretty busy. I just completed 5 sets. if anyone is interested, I need $125 a set. I know this seems high but I can't do it for cheap, as a lot of time goes into these. these are west system 105 ...

Re: Drain plug help
absolutely, every area that can hold water, put a hole. if if you get the wood good and warm, then you can drill the holes needed, and simply keeping wetting out until the wood won't draw any more water.

yeah, wet it out, both the hole and the brass, after you scratch it with some 60 grit or so, and put some slightly thickened (ketchup consistency) resin on the brass, and then do your crimp to instll.

Re: splashwell corner CRACKED again!
I know it is pain, but I have seen a lot of finished become unfinished with these pesky cracks at the corners. the only way I have found to fully cure this, is prior to paint or gel, LAY A COUPLE LAYERS OF, SAY, 3 OR 4 OUNCE S-GLASS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE STRESS (PARALLEL TO THE BOAT SIDES) AND A L...

Re: Drain plug help
only thing about using 5200 is that if the bilge ever gets soaked with some gas it can softer, or weake the 5200, and, some metals don't bond worth a darn to 5200. best thing to do is oversize the hole by about 3 sizes, wet it out with epoxy until the wood won't soak anymore, then back-fill with thi...

Re: vector 115 merc
basically, all you do is take the pad, the last 6 feet, or even the last 4 feet, and simply fill it in so that it is 100% square. test the boat out first and gps it. then, don't make any other changes except the pad, and I guarantee you will pick up several mph, and the motor will turn up more. a lo...

Re: vector 115 merc
you don't need to replace that lower. just clean up. more than any lower unit you can buy for that, you could add a low water pick up from somewhere like bob's machine, which would allow you to raise the motor more, but at your speed, even adding a nose cone can slow you down . nose cones tend to no...
