Re: Faster Prop for V-King
How do you measure setback? Thickness of the jackplate or distance from cone to pad or other?

Re: Faster Prop for V-King
I do not have a lwp or nose cone. The prop shaft centerline is about 5' below the pad. I experimented with it up about 2" from there and 1" down from there. When I got it back on the trailer I tried to wiggle the motor side to side and found some slop (hydraulic steering). This seems like ...

Re: V-King Fuel Tank
I returned the fuel tank to the back of the boat. I moved it about 2" to the right of the stock location so I could squeeze the battery in on the left side for better balance. The hydraulics for the jackplate are mounted to the right side outer stringer. I also eliminated the oil injection syst...

Re: Faster Prop for V-King
I got the 27" pitch Tempest prop. It is allot faster. 60 mph with lots of throttle left. Why only 60 ? Because I got scared. The boat starts gentle rolling side to side at that speed. Is this likely a set-up issue, or do I need driving lessons? Anyone got some advice? The boat has new core, str...

Ski Pylon
While I ponder installing the floor, I got interested in the ski pylon. The pylon was previously installed through the deck immediately behind the rear seat. It can't go there anymore because I am moving the fuel tank from the bow to the rear and the tank blocks that location. Also, the previous loc...

V-King Floor
I have the core and stringer work completed and have started looking at the floor. I expected the main floor would be more or less flat. It's not. The middle 6' of the 8' long floor is pretty flat. The front end curves upwards 1" on the port side and and 1/2" on the starboard side. It also...

Recore question
I have the balsa bonded to the hull and have started glassing over it.
I am using the Isophathalic Fibreglass Resin (waterproof). My layup will be like:
1708
1.5 oz csm
1708
1.5 oz csm
13 oz woven
1.5 oz csm
hull
Written down it seems excessive.
Opinions? Experiences?

Re: What are some of your non-hydrostream boats.
I have a Humber Jewel. It is such a fun little boat.
Always wanted one. I got it for free about 20 yrs ago.
Replaced the transom, fixed holes, ground out 1000s of tiny cracks.... it was a mess.
It came with short shaft electric shift Evinrude.

V-King Windshield
I am having difficulty separating the polycarbonate from the hoop.
It is tightly pinched.
Anyone know any tricks to get the hoop off the windscreen?
