Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

Update time - I have made some progress over the last little bit. Nothing real major to show but slowly getting some grinding done and area preped for more efficient work space. As well as to limit the dust into the rest of the garage. The biggest delay has been sourcing products. Composite canada h...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

I picked up some supplies from Home depot for the cradle build... I'm not sure about anywhere else but the wood prices are crazy here. Wasn't sure what was needed but went with some 1/2" OSB 4x8' sheets. Hoping they are thick enough... Some straight as possible 2x6x10's and 2x4x10 that ...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

That's a great idea Hippie459MN I will most likely take a look at doing something like that. The next few days I have off so hoping to get to the store try to get some materials for a cradle and start getting it together. (Originally was planning on adding two more bunks (4 total) and doing the reco...

Re: 83 hydrostream vector

I appreciate the detailed response! What you did was a great idea in my opinion. I see most deleting the splash well but like the fact you kept it. Deffinitly helps give me some encouragement to tackle mine. Your glass works looks A1! I'm assuming you are using waxed resin? That way you can sand aft...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

Yikes! Yeah, someone really boogered that up. I would say you are going to have to completely split that to fix it. Its best so the hull will hold its shape. If you do the core and floor with the cap off and dont support it good, they may not line up when you go to put it back together. Seems to be...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

May be going for the record of longest rebuild of a hydrostream 😬😅 and Thank you! Deffinitly been a long time coming. Do you have any advice about the pictures above? Not sure if I have much choice but feel like I will have to split the hull to clean up the mess that was hiding under the "rubra...

Its deffinitly nice to see a fellow stream owner around the same point I'm at. Looking forward to seeing some update photos and continue to see your Vector transform! I have t...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration

Hello everyone! It's time to finally get back at the restoration of my 1974 Vector! I created a new thread last year looking for help regarding a material list and places people have sourced there material. Greatly appreciate all the help and replies. Although I was delayed another year... or two i ...

Re: Vector Re-core Material List

AdamDK Honestly I was and am quite surprised as well with how limited resources are here. I did reach out to the more local Burnside dealers that you found above... (again thank you very much for the help) Most of the materials that I started with back 8 years ago was actually from the Millidgevill...
