Looking great!

Joe, that's a great idea with the cardboard tube pieces.

The deck work is looking great! I'll be tearing into my deck in a month or so if all goes to plan.

Deck Underside Deconstruction - Part 2

Well I didn't get it ALL done yet. Long weekend up here in Canada (holiday Monday) so I had to take care of some house things that's been put off since we moved here last year.

Continued grinding the underside of the deck, and removal of wood. Man, these things were built like crap.

All that's left to grind is the inner curved part of the splashwell; the dash / rear splashwell crossbrace (?) / inner sides; and getting down into the crevices where the ends of the windshield frame screw in to. I'll need my Dremel for that as the grinder is too bulky.

On a plus note: I got off work early today and managed to grab a 10yd roll of 50" wide 1.5oz CSM, a new 5gal. pail of resin (in case my resin purchased last summer didn't survive the winter - I'll test the "old" stock on the deck underside) and a 50yd roll of 6oz 3"-wide cloth tape (for tabbing and corners).

Unsettled weather forecast throughout the week, clearing up by Friday and a good sunny weekend to follow.

Deck Underside Deconstruction - Part 3 - Final

Finally finished grinding the deck!

I went around the interior gunwales perimeter with a putty knife and mallet, chiselling as much remaining wood off as I could.

I had to break out the Dremel to get into the tight spots where my grinder couldn't fit. This process took a couple hours.

Tomorrow I'll start laying glass.

Determined is an understatement. I've had this sucker since 2016.
Plus I'm sick of watching all the fast boats go by on my lake from the dock. I want her in the water for next summer. Gotta be able to hang with the T3 Quartershot and HS Venom....

I started my restoration in 2012. Hope to have it on the water very soon. Sometimes life gets in the way of a fun project...lol.
