Hydrostream Vision

Post: # 2632Post charleskiller »

Hi Guys !!

I bought my first hydrostream this fall. 1991 Hydrostream CE Vision with Mariner 200Hp (1993)
I've tried it twice and this things is very fast !

I was planning this winter to have it paint and upgrade the interior. So while removing all the rigging I've noticed that the floor was soft at some places.. I decided to remove de floor in order to change it.. What i've found ?!? SUPRISE!! Everything rotten !! DAMN !! Now, i've started the whole recore of this small rocket .. here's some picture of what i've made from 2 weeks.. Removing the old core.. cut the splashWell , remove the transom ... Things are going great

Here's some pics...

So now.. before going further, I was asking myself if it could not be a better idea than to check for a Viking hull then restore it instead of restore the Vision.. But vikings hull seems pretty rare to find.. I live in Quebec, so I have to find one on the US east coast.. Vision seems to be rare.. I don't know a lot of people who's having this kind of boat on the performance forums.

Have a good day !

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like you found the fun of owning a hydrostream.

If your thinking about buying another one if the core hasn't been done I would plan on doing it. :boating:

The fun thing with this boat is that it is flying at 55Mph !!

So if anybody is hearing of a Rotten Stream VKing of Vulture on east coast .. please let me know !
By the way, I'll restore this one anyway.. Its going to be a good practice for the next one

Keep in touch! I'll keep you updated with pics of my project in the upcoming weeks

SPEED sold his. Right out from underneath me actually lol... The evening before I was going to make the trip to his place, he e-mailed me saying it was sold. At least he didn't wait until I was on my way! Anyways, I ended up with a pretty nice one, and have responded to a few of Andrew's questions.
