New updates and changes. July 17th 2011

As you have noticed by now Im sure, there is a whole new look here and after 2 months of working on it between my real life job and being a single dad and grinding on a boat, its all done. There is a few tiny things I still need to work out but good chance you will not run into them other then a little image issue in the calendar if you check that often.

Also, the new look is no longer a fixed width so you people with the bigger monitors will now have the joy of your whole screen being filled up making for a much nicer viewing experience.

Second is that I will be turning the allowed files size way down for uploading images as a lot of people are uploading huge size images and its taking a really long time for the images to load in posts and its doing a number on load times when on mobile devices. The new limit will be 1MiB (1 meg) per image. The image can be as big as you want dimension wise as long as it is under that file size of 1 MiB.

To help with the file size issue I have posted a great application/program and a how to for resizing images and it is super simple. You can find that here - Resizing images the easy way

Along with the How To on resizing images, There is a bunch of other great How-Tos and a wealth of other information in the Hydrostream Knowledge Base. There is a link at the top of every page and it can also be found here - Hydrostream Forums Knowledge Base

Another thing I would like to point out, When making a post PLEASE make sure you are posting it in the correct section. Not only does it make it easier for other to find, It saves me a lot of time having to move topics to there correct location. Its mostly the new guys the sign up trying to sell there stuff and cant so they post it where ever they can due to the post restrictions for new members on posting stuff for sale.

Also, Until we can get a fix for a few things, Phoogle Maps (The map with members locations) will not be up but we are working on it and hope to have that back up in the next few weeks.

Hope you enjoy the new look and if you have any questions or problems or anything just let me know.

I see you go and get a big screen monitor then have to change the forum so it looks good

I like it, I need a little more time on the mobile site to figure some things out but overall it's faster and looks great

Yep. Picked up a nice 25" 1080p HD monitor for crazy cheap last night. Step up from that 17" CRT flat screen.

I have been working on things here for about 2 months between everything else and decided it was ready. Looks great on this big monitor now too.

I still have a window open with the old forum from this morning and I see the difference in width. Nice.
