Steering wheel question from non-boater.

Post: # 12128Post silkeysak »

I was at the station filling up the Viking last week when a woman says," can you tell me why boats always have the steering on the right instead of the left like a car"?. I replied, "because all boats are made in England". Satisfied, she got in her car and drove away. I was still shaking my head as she turned the corner

It's because of the torque of the prop.

Yep Chet torque and you got plenty of it you need some offset weight that disapears after your launch

I tried a trim tab on the port side last fall. I think it will work but needs improvement.

The steering wheel is on the right to provide an unobstructed view of the danger zone.
