Pro-trim on 1985 Vulture

Post: # 13983Post vulture62 »

Looking for help on installation of a Pro-trim steering wheel control, I took my 1985 to have my jack plate, hot foot and Pro-trim installed. All went well except the marina tech said the Pro-Trim would not fit on my Vulture.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
Anyone with success on installation willing to share procedure?
Would also appreciate pictures if possible.
Thanks
Eric :boating:

Hey Eric,
What steering system are you using?
What style of Pro Trim? Blinker style or push button and coily cord?

Blinker style, I do have the original shaft, which is square type.

It is the original steering, I believe that is the challenge, any suggestions on good replacements? I don't want the cheapest, but I am on a tight budget. I do the the cables have been replaced.

This is the only pic I had but you can kind of see how it mounts. You need the flat surface behind the steering wheel for the three screws to mount.

That's what I was thinking Chet.
Mount it to the bezel. May have to open up the center hole to clear the square shaft. If the steering wheel rubs the plate, just trim the back of the bezel a little.
