I broke my first part

Well I was out after work tonight just goofing off and broke my first part. I was launching and lost foreword gear. At first I thought I lost the prop or broke a propshaft but after timing up I still had the prop on it. I got towed back to the landing and after loading I found I still have reverse but absolutely nothing in foreword, not even any resistance. I only let a little gear lube out but it wasn't shiny and the magnet was clean so I'm hoping it's something simple. I will tear into it tomorrow and see.

Owch! I hope its nothing major. I would like to come back down and get some good video of some really good runs before the lakes freeze. And maybe knock some more out of the vulture and rip into that vking.

Sounds like the clutch dog linkage. I've done that... It will let you shift (push) into reverse but will not let you pull it back into any other gear.

Yep you guessed it. I should have the pin today, I had to run my back up case this weekend.

Be glad you haven't had the carnage I've had so far this year. Only 5 good shakdown runs on mine and I've spun the carrier 3 times and trashed a case. And to think I got out of cars because I thought boating was going to be cheaper...lol

We've always assumed breaking parts is part of the game. I have spare parts for my Mustang laying around from years of breaking 'em. My boat spare parts are scarce at this point lol.
