Painting Hull

Post: # 24208Post coffeeguy »

I am close to the point of painting the hull and the top of the valero. The boat will not sit in the water for more then 24 hrs(if even). The original gel on the hull is terrible(it may have even been re-gelcoated) with some crazing, and some war wounds. The deck had 3 different layers of paint. I have sanded it down to the original gel . I am looking at using a 2 part epoxy primer(entire boat )and then paint. Nothing special just white.
What primer would work best Interlux 2000 or Petitt. Awlgrip is not readily available in Canada.
What paint(again thinking a 2 part epoxy) for the hull and for the deck?

I have used some epoxy over bare areas and am going to use the epoxy filler to sharpen pad and transom the edges.
I am open to gel .as I have bought no finishing material yet.
Parts of the bottom were re-geled once and it did flake or craz , do to poor prep I guess.
Is there an epoxy build up primer that can be layed down before the gel is applied to create a good surface?
