Building Virage Turbo interior
I'm at the point with my project where I needed to get the interior built.
I started with Steve (Sands on S&F) who got me measurements on the individual panels that make up the front and rear seat frames. As he was delivering his Virage from Texas to Idaho, would get me the last minute measurements. From this, I was able to draw up a blueprint.
Lately, a friend Garrett Gablehouse bought a Virage turbo from the original owner and we were able to go back over the original measurements. Trying to push thru the upholstery to feel the joints and get accurate numbers was a challenge.
I realized one sheet of 1/2" plywood would make both front buckets and a second sheet would do the rear.
These are the initial blueprints I started with.
These are the pieces that make up the front seat.
The head rest in this pict is 2" taller than it should be. It was trimmed later on.
I made patterns from the front seat panels.
Resin coated (primed) to seal wood from moisture.
The modified splash well is ready for gelcoat.
Got a modified bulkhead made that will be fully glassed on both sides to the hull and deck.
Both sides of bulkhead were glassed and trimmed before glassing into boat.
And made a panel that will get upholstered to cover the bulkhead.
Mike at Stitchworks 1 mile down the road said $1500.00 to stitch up everything just like the factory did.
Heading back down in late January to install gauges, and install interior.

Re: Building Virage Turbo interior
Our goal is to have it up and running for next years HydroStream run. I see the guys just had it.
I have certain goals I need to reach each visit south to be able to be running by mid summer.
Rigging a boat from nothing is EXPENSIVE!!!!! Just spent $1800.00 on Gaffrig gauges, bezels and a few trinkets for the interior.
Were going ALL out with GPS speedo, dual pyro's, fuel press along with all the other gauges. Running mechanical trim indicators as well.

The upholster near me threw in the towel on our interior. He recommended a guy in Spokane (3 1/2 hrs away). We took our stuff over and he said no problem. He has the side panels and rear bench done. Just got off the phone with him and the front seats are 80% done. He assured me they will be ready when we fly in next Friday.
Phil Blomquist drove over from Spokane and installed the carpet. What a guy!!! He is a flooring guy and a HS owner!!!

All went as planned.....Whaaaaat?? Finally something got done as planned.....
Picked up the upholstery and got put in. 1 st run went great but seats were too high so I had to lose the slider/ swivels and bolt to the floor.
Seats mounted on the floor (actually 2 1/2" up)
