Booooo! LoL
Wish the vulture had some metal flake left. It was originally red metal flake but someone painted it white. They did a pretty decent job too. If will eventually have some flake in its life again. Someday. LoL

Re: Where is everyone?
There's a place up here in Ontario that does wicked gelcoat jobs. But it isn't cheap.
I heard this is a $10k job.

Re: Where is everyone?
wow, a $10k paint job? One has to want it pretty bad to spend that much! I am guessing they don't do a lot of Hydrostreams!
Mine is faded but it faded in a nice pattern from the original brown metalflake. I am going to paint the center of the deck (the dished out part) black because it is stained black on one side from water pooling there over the years. Other than that, I'm going to leave it the way it is. Not looking to win any shows or races, just want to have fun and maybe do some skiing

Re: Where is everyone?
He actually does quite a few streams.
Now I think this $10k job also included the restoration work....ie the transom and additional fiberglass work. Oddly enough, you'll notice that this Viper didn't have a core laid down.
When my Viper is all ready and the last thing I need is the final gelcoat job, I'll ask Ronny's for a quote. Otherwise I may just do it myself.
I keep hearing spraying autopaint is faster/easier, but I don't know.
Gelcoat requires a tonne of work post-spray to make it look good.
Painting (ie Awlgrip or Imron...automotive paints, etc.) requires a tonne of work pre-spray to make it look good.
But gelcoat lasts longer.

Re: Where is everyone?
Adam, check out this post as far as cost. And you are right, a lot more work...

Dan Umbargers dad owns Hustler Marine in IL and he is the one that built Huslter boats back in the day. My dad had a factory comp Hustler Wildcat far a lot of years when I was a kid. Awesome fun boat. And it was green metal flake.
Excuse the music, it was my early YouTube video days when I though I needed music to everything. Ugh! LoL
This is my cousins driving it. Had an old 850 I6 and it moved pretty good for crap set up. lol
