Tiny bit more work done today. Nothing fancy but some work is better than no work.

Get the sending unit back in and ran another ground wire kind of like it was before to ground the tank. Also pulled the supply fitting out and got all cleaned up and adjusted and put back in the tank.

Now, all thats left to do, is move the mounting tabs to the side of the tank and move the filler neck to point straight up and down. With the new tank position, the filler neck wont work like it is now.

Thats all for now. Slow and steady. Hoping to get the tank stuff squared away in the next week. Fingers crossed.

So a thing happened today. Got my steering wheel and adapter and I love it! My hub extension, I need to take it back off and give it another coat of paint. I noticed a few spots that there was scratches from being in a box with some other parts. Nothing is permanently mounted just yet. I will do that once I get the steering cables mounted but its just mocked up to see how I like it. I might take one of the angle wedges out to angle the steering wheel up just a little but we'll see. So far though, I really like it.

The old wheel only had a 2 inch dish on it and and a janky 2 inch adapter and this one has a 3 inch dish so I went with a 1 inch adapter and it looks 100 times better than the old wheel, adapter, and cover. Excuse the poor pictures quality. I took them with an old phone.

I will certainly let you know! I just have to get a few things squared away first then I can get the tank all marked out and go from there. I am getting a pretty good thick piece of belted rubber that is going to go under the tank. Figure it will keep the tank and floor in good shape and not move around. Friend works at Waste Management and its the old conveyor belting from the big trash machines at the plant. We use it for a ton of stuff and lasts forever but they have to replace it every so often and they just throw it out so he takes a bunch of it and gives it away. lol

It always feels good when you can repair something verses replacing.

I have a question. I was pointed to these for seat options recently and they look like they would be a great option. All of the dimensions, except for one, is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I just want some input or thoughts.

The shells are $89 a piece, or $145 for a pair, and the covers are $55 a piece so I could be into them for like $250 give or take a few bucks. And they are plastic shells so no rot.

Here are the dimensions
Height 21-1/4"
Width 17-3/4"
Base Depth 15"
Mounting Platform 14-1/2" X 13-1/4"

My concern is the height. Almost all the actual boat seats I see it about 18" inches high or so and these are 21 inches and some change. Im just worried about them sticking up so high and look goofy. Just wondering what anyone else thinks if they would be too tall maybe. I dont know how much of a difference 3 inches would make over the old crusty seats I have now. They will be sitting flat on the floor (no raised seat boxes/pads) so maybe it would look ok.

Call Allison, their seats are reasonably priced and better than anything else out there!

If the seat Kiddo is in is 18" height, then the 21" high seats wouldn't be bad. They still wouldn't be higher than the deck/windshield rails. It's the dumb racecar/airboat seats that stick way up that look ridiculous.

@AdamDK, I agree. Kiddo is a little taller since that picture was taken 2 years ago. I cant stand that race car seat look in a boat.

@nitro_rat, I'll have to give them a call. Most people I see selling allison style seats, after covers, end up costing like $300 a piece or better and right now I cant swing that. I eventually want to get the ones that came with the boat redone but just not in the cards right now.

@Hippie459MN Another thought - if those covers are unpadded, you may wanna stick a cushion under your butt, especially for days when the lake is choppy. The 3" extra height would at least still give you mid-back support.
