Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
Just because I don’t have any resin doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do.
The ski locker hatch looked like it was made from pallet wood and sheet rock screws.
I went to Home Depot and got two 8’ sticks of Mahogany 1x4 and made a new one.
There was just enough scrap to make the glove box door.
A new tongue jack and wiring kit were put on the trailer.
I mixed up some pour foam and filled the forward sponson cavities.

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
I get it Kevin!!
When we bought this property in 07, it was an alfalfa field. We knew the importance of a large heated shop so it was the first building to get erected.
It has surely paid off. This is the only way I can get so much done.
I’m out here 8-10 hrs a day.
It’s 5* outside today and 65* inside.

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
I put the deck on so it would be easier to roll outside for the gelcoat grinding.
While waiting for the temperature to rise tomorrow, I decided to make a mold for the windscreen.
I’m running the sides a little further back as it seems to look better with the long lines in the deck shape.
Hot glued paneling and two coats of Johnson paste floor wax. The mounting flanges will be on the inside.
Also straightened the bow rail .
It was really outta wack!!!

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
The steering wheel cover was coming apart so I stitched up a replacement.
Definitely not perfect but a fun little project nonetheless.

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
No worries bud, there’s plenty left to watch.
Well, the three gallons arrived and I soon realized that I was going to be short AGAIN. ARGGGGG!!!
Got the rest of the bow stringers fully glassed in as well as the bulkheads, floor , seat bases, foot throttle pad, and floor side rails with the three gallons .
That leaves the transom , knee braces, and outside repairs needing resin.

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
Today I put in the carpet. One piece 8-1/2’ x 9’.
I fit the gas tank and realized there’s no way you would get a bilge pump in the floor opening. There isn’t enough height.
I may drill a hole in front of the tank , thru the floor and put one there. There is bilge wiring already run and I have a bilge pump sitting in a box.

Re: ‘89 HST rebuild ( Blown out bottom)
Today I put the deck back on and rolled outside to grind off the gelcoat that had spider cracking.
Luckily, most of it was just in the gel.
Bout 3 hrs work.
