Re: Couple Questions
What kind/ hp motor do you have. Unless you plan on going over 75mph, you don't need the cone.

Re: Couple Questions
Nose cones have a major pucker factor when installing cause if your off just alittle your casing well be junk I thought about doing one on my own intill I read 77Vipers post on install .Its in Vipers threads pretty good read check it out. Plus my Valero is a 70-73mph boat and I need one so there not just for over 75 it just depends on your setup motor height ect .hope this helps .

Re: Couple Questions
With a 200 you would see a benifit from a nose cone. What it does is lets you run your motor higher on the transom giving you less drag. You will notice better handling and higher speeds. Good dual cable steering and solid motoer mounts go allong with this. It's kind of like going to a standard fast boat and putting it in the high performance catagory set up wise.

Re: Couple Questions
77 vipers nosecone install is very good. I will say that you must resist the urge to use ANY auto body filler, like bondo, to fair in the cone. I purchased a midsection with a cone installed, and the first time I got out, big chunks of bondo came off. I had to chip off all the old bondo and for good measure chipped off the marine text they had used, and started over. It took at least 7-8 steps, and around a $100, using nothing but marine-tex to get it back right again. If you contact Bob's Machine, they will fax you a template with a generic radius that you can use as a guide. I cut that radius into a six inch plastic drywall taping knife, and got excellent results. You have to have patience with the marine tex and build up to your proper radius. Then you won't have to worry about it coming off and having to do it over.
