removing the windshield from the frame.
How hard is it to remove the windshield from the frame on a vking/vector? I have a good frame and a busted windshield and I might be buying a good windshield but has a slightly bent frame on one side. I might be able to straighten it but if not might have to swap frames. Just wondering how hard of a task it is if it comes down to that.
Here is the bend in question.

Re: removing the windshield from the frame.
Here is what I have now and as you can see the need for a new windshield.
If I can just straighten out the frame in the first post I will use that one otherwise I am going to see how much of a pain it is when I get the boat home to take whats left out of the frame I have now to switch them.

Re: removing the windshield from the frame.
I finally got outside to try to remove the screen from the frame. It pulled out but took some effort. My frame is mangled and the screen looks worse than yours hippie.
I am also watching the ones on ebay but the shipping is a bit high and I'm waithing to see his feedback about the quality. I think John speath in Canada can also get new ones.

Re: removing the windshield from the frame.
Hippie, My '75 had a set of clips that were set in to the frame that had little tabs that snap in to holes drilled through the plexi. They are designed to go in but not come out. The little clips were a bear to remove and if my plexi was not already ruined, removing them would have ruined it. I was afraid i was going to ruin the frame trying to pry the plexi and clips out of it.Hippie459MN wrote:How hard is it to remove the windshield from the frame on a vking/vector? Apparently some windshields were just press fit.

Re: removing the windshield from the frame.
Guess I will find out. I am going to see if I can just straighten out the frame in that one spot. Little bit if finesse nice and easy so I don't wreck it and hopefully should be ok.
