At 5800 rpm's, a proper oil injection is putting out 50:1. As the throttle is backed off, the oil is reduced (in an injection system).
With this information, you can adjust your pre mix oil to your running rpm's.
A race motor that turns 8500 rpm's run 32:1 due to the rpm's. A promax that turns 6700 rpm's is at 40:1.
My family run-about with a '97 175 Merc runs consistantly at 3600 rpm's. I mix my oil at 75:1 and have for the past four years with no problems. Just good FYI to know.

Well put my new Bob's low water pickup on and put in a new water pump while I had the lower unit off thats not to bad of a job at all.Theres alot of water psi now how much water psi should I have now with the 85 200 Merc .just idling 17 psi and it go 's up to 20 something and warms up to 165 170 temp but cools down to 150 at 60 mph .I'm so pleased with Bob's low water pickup and so easy to do I didn't have the 23/65 drill but I had 21/65 drill and just took my time with the 1'' taper . and tack welded around the low water pickup then used the epoxy pertty easy to do in a weekend .I didn't plug any inlit holes on the lower uint becuse I like to use my water muffs to witerize the motor by running the motor and and fogging it . :boating: thanks to all you guys for the great help and telling me to put in a new water pumpin and great info. Put both the lower and upper new in on the water pump .

Hey, nice ride! ...looks very original...me like. :)

I, also have an XT hull, with a 4.5 in jack. I'd like a bigger one. It seems that the XT can handle a lot of set back. More set back will give you more top end but it can take some of the 'familyness' out of the boat. btw, you don't have any setback now.

So how original is that thing? Is that the original motor? :)

Boat looks nice! I see no setback there whatsoever, motor's bolted directly to the transom. That steering does look very similar to mine as well. I don't want to alarm you, but you may want to confirm it's a dual helm. As far as I've been educated, and I may be wrong, but having both cables on the same side as the motor, and running in parallel on the helm isn't the best for the performance our boats are capable of. I'll be in the market for a dual opposed dual helm setup when I can spend more money on the boat lol... Gotta put a roof on my house first....
