Bad time to sell a Hydrostream?
Bad time to sell a Hydrostream?
I have a Viper that I don't really use any more because I live in the city and boating is a hassle here and I don't have much spare time. If I ever move out of Minneapolis and/or get decide to boat more often again, I'd like a little bit bigger ski boat anyway.
So what I'm wondering is, should I hang onto it until people start buying boats again? I noticed about 100 boats/day go up on CL for Mpls, and people don't seem to be getting much for them. What do you guys think? Leave it in storage for a couple years until the economy does a little better or sell cheap now?
Cheers!

Doesn't hurt to advertise it, and measure the response. If you can't get a fair offer, then you hang on to it.
Hydrostream buyers are a little different They are often looking for a particular boat, and not just "looking to buy a boat".
If somebody calls and says "what's a Hydrostream?", just tell them this boat's not for you. When you got somebody hot to buy a Stream, they know exactly what it is. Advertising here, or on other hot boat sites, will probably give you your best chance to sell it.

Although not a seller market right now, When someone is looking for a particular stream they tend pay the little extra to get what they want. Like I did. lol

Re: Bad time to sell a Hydrostream?
Any time something bad happens in the economy, the boating industry is the first to get hurt. Interest rates, unemployment, price of gas,etc....these things hurt new and used boat sales. Unfortunately, at least some of these things are always happening.
If it were me, I would look at the cost and effort to store it, consider how much I more I might make by keeping it, but then, ultimately try to find it a good home...before Labor Day.
Best of luck.

Re: Bad time to sell a Hydrostream?
I wanted a vulture and at the time I couldnt find one to save my life and when I did I paid for it. About a month or 2 later about 3 of them popped up that were in comparable or better shape for the same money or slightly less and closer to home. Oh well, If you want it you will pay for it sometimes. I hope to be a baddass someday too. Next spring hopefully.king gill wrote: Paying extra Tell me about it.............But Im such a Badass now
